Everton Vs Liverpool 2021

Salah Double Inspires Liverpool to Emphatic Merseyside Derby Win

Goals from Salah and Henderson Secure 4-1 Triumph

Mohamed Salah's double helped Liverpool to an emphatic 4-1 Merseyside derby win over Everton, their biggest in the Premier League at Goodison Park. Jordan Henderson and Diogo Jota also found the net for the Reds, who moved back to within two points of leaders Manchester City.

Everton twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Liverpool in the reverse fixture at Goodison Park earlier this season, but there was no such fightback here as Jurgen Klopp's side dominated from start to finish.

Salah opened the scoring in the first half, finishing coolly after good work from Sadio Mane. Henderson doubled Liverpool's lead just before the hour mark, with a fine strike from the edge of the area.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin pulled one back for Everton with a header from a corner, but Jota restored Liverpool's two-goal advantage just minutes later. Salah then wrapped up the scoring with his second of the game, tapping in from close range after a cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Lineups

Everton: Pickford; Coleman, Holgate, Keane, Mykolenko; Delph, Allan, Iwobi; Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin, Gordon.
